Terence Howley

March 26, 1955 — May 14, 2008

Terence D. Howley, 53, of Boylston, died Wednesday, May 14, 2008, in UMASS Medical Center. He leaves a brother Kevin J. Howley and his wife Veronica of Boylston, three sisters, Kathleen P. Morrell and her husband Frank of Leominster, his twin sister, Teresa A. Prunier and her husband Mark of Boylson, and Mary F. Cipro and her husband Sebastiano of Southbridge; three nieces, Jaclyn,Susan and Ashley and four nephews, Jonathan, Brennan, Christopher and Sean. Terry also leaves behind aunts and uncles, cousins, several grandnieces and one grandnephew. He is predeceased by his parents, James F. and Anne (Flaherty) Howley, in addition to his brother, Stephen L. Howley. Terry was a quiet, caring man with a great sense of humor. He enjoyed history, travel, antiques, yard sales, playing Trivial Pursuit, and trips to Foxwoods. Terry loved entertaining, his Christmas parties and annual "Yahd Sale" were always memorable. He loved animals and especially his beloved cat, Nasib, also known as Nasty B. One of his favorite pastimes was watching the Red Sox and New England Patriots. He was thrilled when they won their Championships, but if not he would say, "It was a great season, we'll just wait until next year." He spent many years in the Middle East, Asia, and Europe providing flight instruction training on fighter jet simulators. His love of world travel inspired his entire family, especially his nieces and nephews who, by his example have traveled to places like Ireland and Senegal. He taught them to experience new cultures and far off places, an appreciation for the world they will always remember him by. He especially enjoyed living in Egypt and made many friends while there. Before returning to his hometown of Boylston he also resided in Binghamton, New York and Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Boylston was dear to his heart and his family was glad when he returned home to stay. He also liked to support local businesses and the Boylston Public Library. Being close to his family meant a lot to him. He was a devoted uncle, always interested in his nephews' and nieces' goals and aspirations. He was also a loving brother-in-law. He served his country proudly in the United States Air Force, from 1982 to 1986, earning the rank of Sergeant and being awarded the Good Conduct Medal, Air Force Longevity Service Award, Overseas Ribbon, Air Force Achievement Medal and the Small Arms Expert Marksmanship Ribbon. He has worked for The Hanover Insurance Company as a Lead Computer Operator since 1999.
