Robert J. Marvin, 70, of Margin Street, died Saturday, January 12, 2008 in Brigham & Women's Hospital. He leaves his wife of 40 years, Joyce (LaMarche) Marvin, two children, David and his wife Michele of Worcester and Melissa Nocchi and her husband Rick of Dudley; three grandchildren, Aaron and Luke Marvin of Worcester and Nathaniel Nocchi of Dudley; a brother James Marvin of Illinois and three sisters Irene York, Lillian Davis and Betty Ann Marvin all of Illinois. He is predeceased by three brothers and six sisters. Robert was born in Columbus City, Iowa on January 5, 1938 to the son of the late William and Daisy (Colbert) Marvin. He graduated from Orion High School, Iowa. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War and has lived in Worcester for many years. Mr. Marvin was an Electrical Motor Repair Technician for over 30 years for Bigelow Electric. He was a member of the Greendale Retired Men's Club, enjoyed camping, gardening and spending countless hours on the computer. Robert's most precious times were with his wife, children, grandchildren and all his loving family. He will be missed by his family and friends. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, January 15th at 11:00 a.m. in MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation Street. Calling hours will be held Monday, January 14th from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. in the funeral home. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery.
