Rachel P. (DiPasquale) Beland, 92, of Worcester, formerly of Spencer, passed away Wednesday, June 4, 2008, in The Christopher House of Worcester. Her husband, Valmore A. Beland, pre-deceased her in 1995. She is survived by a daughter, Judith Ann Sutherland and her husband Edward of Spencer; a son, Richard Beland and his wife Carol of Worcester; a brother, Louis DiPasquale of Worcester; a sister, Eva Karbowski and her husband Ted of Shrewsbury; eight grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; a great grand daughter; many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Rachel was pre-deceased by a son, Ronald Beland of Worcester, as well as two brothers, Victor and George DiPasquale. Rachel was born in Worcester, the daughter of Antonio and Lucy (Novia) DiPasquale. Rae worked as a cashier at both the former Iandoli and Hodes Markets, before she retired many years ago. She was a former member of Mary Queen of The Rosary Church. The funeral for Rachel will be held Saturday, June 7, at 10 a.m. in MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester. Interment will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. A calling hour will be held Saturday morning from 9 a.m. until 10 a.m., in the funeral home, immediately prior to the funeral service.
