Pietro Simone

Pietro "Peter" Simone, 71, of Worcester died peacefully Saturday January 19, 2008 In the Autumn Village Nursing Center. Pietro is survived by his loving family: His wife of 45 years Grace M. (Lopolito) Simone, two sons; Joseph F. Simone, and Frank Simone both of Worcester, a sister Rita Simone Valente of Bari, Italy, and several nephews and nieces. Pietro was born in Bisceglia, Provencia de Bari Italy son of Giuseppe and Anna (Cassanelli) Simone and came to the United States in 1964 and settled in Worcester. Pietro attended school in Italy and served as a Medic in the Italian Army during WW11. He worked at Cincinatti Milacron Company formerly the Heald Machine Company for over 20 years, and also worked for the Cumberland Farms Company before he retired. Peter was a long time member of Our Lady Of Mt Carmel-St Ann Church, and the Men's Biscegliese Society. He was a talented Accordion player, and loved tending to his garden, but most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family. He will be missed by his friends and family. Pietro's funeral will be held Thursday from the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME AND CHAPEL 370 Plantation St. with a Mass of Christian burial at 11:00AM in Our Lady Of Mt. Carmel- St Ann Church 24 Mulberry St. Calling hours in the funeral home are 5-8 PM on Wednesday. Burial will be in St John's Cemetery.
