Pierino Franciosa

Pierino "Peter" Franciosa, 93, of Worcester died peacefully Tuesday July 1, 2008 surrounded by his family in the Christopher House. He is survived by his devoted wife of 62 years Gloria (Quercio) Franciosa, two son's Guy A. Franciosa and his wife Donna of Boylston, and Gerald J. Franciosa of Worcester.Three grandchildren Michael, Carrie, and Jennifer, and four great grandchildren, Kayla, Jake, Hana, and Ava, and several nephews and nieces. Peter was predeceased by a daughter in law Ruth, and several brothers and sisters. He was born in Sulmona, Italy son of Gaetano and Maria (Ventresca) Franciosa and came to the United States in 1933. Pierino served in the United States Army during WW11 as a Corporal during the Asiatic and Northern African Theatre's. Peter was a Mason for several area construction companies for many years before he retired. He was a long time member of Our Lady Of Mt. Carmel- St Ann Church, the East Side Improvement Club and the Local Mason's Union. He enjoyed hunting and gardening, but most of all being with his family. He will be missed by his family and friends. Pierino's funeral services will be private and at the families convenience. There are no calling hours.Entombment will be in Notre Dame Mausoleum.
