Peter DeMauro

Peter DeMauro, 86, of Shrewsbury died peacefully Wednesday December 26, 2007, surrounded by his family, after a brief illness. Peter is survived by his wife of 47 years Barbara (Hicks) DeMauro, a daughter Lori J. Grenier and her husband Stephen of Worcester, two sons; Thomas R. MacIntosh and his wife Barbara of North Brookfield, and Robert D. MacIntosh and his wife Kathleen of Millbury, a sister Natalie Prentiss of Worcester, and four grandchildren, Melissa, Amy, Andrew, and Corey, and a great granddaughter Lily. Several nieces and nephews. Peter was predeceased by two brothers, Anthony and Louis DeMauro, and three sisters, Julia Goss, Faye Crupi, and Esther Lombardozzi. Peter was born in Shrewsbury son of the late Leonardo and Libera (Ferrantino) DeMauro and lived here most of his life, he attended Shrewsbury Public Schools. He was an Army veteran of WW11. Peter worked as a driver for the E.L. Dauphinais Cement Company for over 39 years before he retired. Peter enjoyed fishing and playing tennis at Dean Park, and was a long time member and Steward of the Local #170 Teamster's Union. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, and will be dearly missed by all. Calling hours will be held Sunday from 2-4PM in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL 370 Plantation St. A private funeral service will be held Monday with burial to follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Jimmy Fund of Dana Farber 10 Brookline Ave. West 6th Floor Brookline, Ma.02445-7226 Attn. Contribution Services.
