Paul Vincent Gallo, 85 of East, Dennis, formerly of Worcester, a proud U.S. Navy World War II veteran, passed away Thursday, May 8th 2008, surrounded by his devoted family. Paul is survived by his loving wife and partner of 63 years, Hazel R. (Flynn) Gallo; A devoted son, Paul James Gallo; a cherished granddaughter, Jennifer (Gallo) Laverty; a adored great-granddaughter, Caelan Laverty, all of Worcester, Three sisters, Santina Verdolino and Anna Perrone both of Worcester, Mary Francois of Orange, Mi.; many nieces and nephews. Paul was born in Worcester, the son of Vincenzo and Anastasia (Tufano) Gallo. He graduated from a Worcester high school, earned his education in engineering from Wentworth Institute in Boston. Paul then served his country during World War II in the U.S. Navy, Pacific Theater of Operations, more than 4 years, attaining the rank of Petty Officer First Class, Paul worked over 35 years for the Mass Electric Company, as a Senior Field Engineer, before retiring in 1984. He was a member of Our Lady of the Cape Church in Brewster, The International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Union and The Disabled American Veterans Association. Paul loved to travel, garden and spend time with family and friends. The funeral will be held Monday, May 12th with a Mass at 10:00 a.m. in the Cathedral of St. Paul, 15 Chatham St. Worcester. Burial with military honors will be held at the Veterans National Cemetery, Bourne. There are no calling hours.
