Michelina (DiSilvestri) Sarkisian, 81, of 50 Shrewsbury St. passed away Tuesday, January 1st 2008 in St. Vincent Hospital surrounded by her family who loved and adored her. Michelina is survived by her children, William Sarkisian, Jr. and his wife Linda of Auburn, Cheryl Mahan and her husband Kevin of Millbury, Michelle Consiglio and her husband Mauro of Walpole; a brother, Domenic DiSilvestri of Worcester; three sisters, Rose Auger of Milford, Eleanor Wallace and her husband Harold, Grace Mahoney and her husband Francis "Butch" all of Worcester; five cherished grandchildren, Christopher, Angela, Megan, Mauro and Michael; an adored great granddaughter Alyssa; a brother in law, John Vecchio of Worcester; many nieces and nephews. A brother, Joseph and two sisters, Antoinette Zoppo and Annie Vecchio pre deceased her. Born in Worcester, she was a daughter of Felice and Carolina (Riccardi) DiSilvestri and has lived here all her life. Michelina worked the past several years for her son William at Illusions Hair Design in Auburn. She previously worked for several area nursing facilities. She was a member of Our Lady of Mt Carmel Church, and its Golden years. Michelina was an ultimate example of how to be a caring human being. Her zest for life and her dedication to her family will be missed. Funeral services will be held Friday, January 4th at 11:00 a.m. in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St. Entombment will be in Notre Dame Mausoleum. Friends are invited to visit with her family from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, January 3rd in the funeral home.
