Maxine E. (Storms) Hargrove, 62, of May Street in Worcester, passed away, surrounded by her loving family, Saturday, January 5, 2008, in her home after a long illness. Her husband of twenty-eight years, Alvin W. Hargrove, passed away in 2005. Maxine leaves two sons, Keith T. Woodbury of Worcester, and Derek E. Hazzard, with whom she lived; a daughter, Gina A. Storms of Hartford, CT; three brothers, William Storms and Steven Storms both of Worcester, and Wayne "Kamal" Storms in California; a sister, Sandra L. Storms in Maryland; six grand children, Tyrus T. Storms, Travis T. Storms, Mariah F. Kemp, Meleana G. Kemp, Larenzo N. Kemp, and Anthony Woodbury; her God-daughter, Kala P. Simmons; a dedicated cousin, Barbara Ward of Worcester; many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and a host of friends. Her brother, Rosco Storms, pre-deceased her. Maxine was born in Milford, MA the daughter of William and Barbara H. (Ward) Storms and has lived all her life in Worcester, where she graduated from Doherty High School. Mrs. Hargrove worked as a machinist at Saint Gobain, formerly Norton Company for over twenty-eight years. She was member of Second Baptist Church, and an angelic voice in it's choir. She was also a member of the Nakomis Temple #36 of the Quinsigamond Lodge of Elk's I.B.P.O.E. of W. She had formerly been a member of the choir at Grace Community Church, and John Street Baptist Church. Maxine dedicated her life to Christ, and was a loving mother and grandmother. She enjoyed singing , dancing, playing cards, and shopping. The funeral for Maxine will be held Wednesday, January 9, at 12 Noon in Second Baptist Church, 14 Hammond Street, Worcester. Interment will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. A calling hour will be held Wednesday morning from 11 a.m. until 12 Noon in Second Baptist Church, prior to the funeral service.The MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL 370 Plantation St. is assisting the family with arrangements.
