Mary C. (DiCicco) Buffone, 80, of Worcester, passed away, Saturday, February 16, 2008, in UMass Hospital, surrounded by her loving family. She is survived by her loving husband of nearly sixty years, Oleno "Lee" Buffone; a son, Michael Buffone and his wife Mary; a daughter in law, Margaret "Peg" A. (Direnzo) Buffone; two grandchildren, Christina M. Burdulis and Vincent J. Buffone both of Worcester; two brothers, Alfonso DiCicco of Worcester, and W. David DiCicco of Auburn; a sister, Anna Kusek of Webster; many nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by her son, Vincent C. Buffone, on the same day in 2001. She was also pre-deceased by a granddaughter, Jennifer Lee Buffone; three brothers, George, John, and Theodore DiCicco, and two sisters, Rena Buffone and Isabelle McCurn. Mary was born the daughter of Gaetano and Candelora (Eramo) DiCicco. She graduated from Worcester Girls' Trade High School and has lived her most of her life. Mary worked as a seamstress for many years at Hawthorne Sportswear, before she retired. She was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel-Saint Ann Church, the Our Lady of Loreto Guild and Bowling League. She believed in the fabric of family and was the thread that wove their lives together through the years. The funeral for Mary will be held Tuesday, February 19, from MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester, with a Mass at 11 a.m. in Our Lady of Mount Carmel-Saint Ann, 24 Mulberry Street, Worcester. Interment will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery, Worcester. Calling hours will be held Tuesday morning from 8:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home, immediately prior to departing for church.
