Mario J. Genduso, Jr., 55, of Worcester, passed away Monday, February 25, 2008 in Saint Vincent Hospital, Sante Fe, New Mexico, while traveling on a business trip. He leaves his wife, Frances M. (Reney) Genduso; a daughter, Leigha A. Genduso of Worcester; two step-sons, Paul E. Reney and Joseph A. Phillips both of Worcester; his mother, Marilyn DiMauro of Naples, Florida; a brother, Ernest Kangiser of Shrewsbury; two sisters, Gina Johnson of Worcester and Susan Lund in Florida; nieces and nephews. Mario was born in Worcester, son of the late, Mario J. Genduso, Sr. Mario worked for Metro Chemical in Westford, and had previously been a salesman for local automobile dealerships. He was a member of Saint Stephen's Church, where he and his wife served as Eucharistic Ministers. He was an outstanding baseball player, and received a baseball scholarship to attend Arizona State College. He loved the Boston Red Sox and enjoyed playing golf. The funeral for Mario will be held Tuesday, March 4, from MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester, with a Mass at 11 a.m. in Saint Stephen's Church, 357 Grafton Street, Worcester. Calling hours will be held Monday, March 3, from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. in the funeral home. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family. The family has requested that flowers be omitted.
