Margaret A. (Stines) McNamara, 81, of Millbury, died Wednesday, March 26, 2008 in UMASS Medical Center after a brief illness. She leaves her husband of 59 years, John R. McNamara; her two daughters, Christine and her husband Roger Messier and Priscilla and her husband Thomas Descoteaux all from Douglas. A brother, Joseph Stines of Grafton; five grandchildren, Elizabeth, Eileen, Lauren, Katelyn and Alissa; three great grandchildren, Rheianna, Ethan and Adam. Margaret also leaves many nieces and nephews. Margaret was born in Worcester, daughter to the late Chester and Agnes (Gearin) Stines. She was a graduate from the former Commerce High School in Worcester and has been a resident of Millbury since 1952. She worked in the customer service department for the telephone company. She enjoyed summering in Maine, cooking, and bestowing many selfless acts of kindness on her devoted family and friends. Margaret was also member of Our Lady of Lourdes Church where she was a CCD teacher for many years, a member of the choir and a Eucharistic Minister. She also enjoyed in participating in the Millbury Women's Club. The funeral for Margaret will be Saturday, March 29th from the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester with a Mass of Christian burial at 11:30 A.M. in Our Lady of Lourdes Church, 1290 Grafton Street, Worcester. Burial will follow in Saint Philip's Cemetery, Grafton. Calling hours will be Friday, March 28th from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. in the funeral home.
