Lucy A. (Masiello) DePiro, 88, of Worcester, passed away, Sunday, December 23, 2007, in Saint Vincent Hospital. Her husband, Michael DePiro, and their son, Stephen DePiro both pre-deceased her. Lucy leaves a son, Michael DePiro, Jr., of Grafton; a daughter, Mary Lou Macaruso of Millbury; five grandchildren, Michael DePiro, III, Gary DePiro, Paul DePiro, Lori Christy, and Debra Macaruso; four great grandchildren, Olivia and Steven Christy, Kendra DePiro, and Sabra Macaruso; two brothers, Rudolph and Ralph Masiello both of Worcester; four sisters, Rose Mongeon of Westborough, Mary Zeresky of Worcester, Yolanda Landry of Framingham, and Teresa Salemno in Florida; many nieces and nephews. Lucy was also preceded in death by two sisters and three brothers, Julia Verdolino, Rita Lunger, Angelo, Anthony, and Frank Masiello. She was born in Worcester, the daughter of Frank and Argentina (Martinelli) Masiello, and has lived here all her life. Mrs. DePiro was a member of Our Lady of Loreto Church. She enjoyed buying, selling, and restoring antiques, and frequented many antique swaps and flea markets. The funeral for Lucy will be held Friday, December 28, from MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester, with a Mass at 11 a.m. in Our Lady of Loreto Church, 33 Massasoit Road, Worcester. Interment beside her loving husband, will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Calling hours will be held Friday morning from 9 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home, immediately prior to departing for church.
