Laura Feraco

Laura M. (Abbruzzese) Feraco, of Worcester passed away Sunday, November 11th in the University of Massachusetts Hospital after an illness. Laura is survived by her husband of 44 years Joseph F. Feraco; Her four children, Joseph T. Feraco of Worcester, Thomas J. Feraco of Cambridge, David P. Feraco and Maryellen Feraco both of Worcester; A sister, Donna (Abbruzzese) Rosenberg and her husband Peter; a sister in law, Mary Abbruzzese; several loving friends, neighbors, nieces and nephews. In passing Laura will be joined with her parents, Samuel and Mary (Deceasare) Abbruzzese, a brother, Paul Abbruzzese and a sister, Rita Abbruzzese, as well as several cousins and friends who have pre deceased her. Laura was born in Worcester; she graduated from Commerce High School. She then received the three year, Ann A. Ryan Memorial Scholarship to continue studies in Nursing at the St Vincent Hospital School of Nursing. Completing her studies and earning her degree as a Registered Nurse, Laura spent 40 years caring for the sick at both St. Vincent Hospital and the University of Massachusetts, where she retired. Laura was a member of Our Lady of Loreto Parish, where she attended masses regularly. She was well known for her sense of humor. Laura enjoyed sewing, knitting, reading, baking, and caring for her pets. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Ronald and Joyce Tarallo for their continued support. A private funeral was held Wednesday, November 14th. Burial was in St. John Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions ma be made to the Susan G. Komen for the Cure, 5005 LBJ Fwy., Suite, 250, Dallas, TX 75244.
