Kyle T. Gavin, 12, of Worcester, teenage son of Daniel and Cheryl (Sweeney) Gavin, passed away Wednesday, July 15th 2008, in the University of Massachusetts Hospital after a brief illness. Kyle was born, January 15th 1996, in Worcester. He graduated from Jacob Hiatt Magnet School this past spring and planned to attend St. Peter Marian Jr/Sr high school, in the fall. A gifted sports athlete who loved to play Basketball for the Sacred Heart/St Joseph Youth Basketball league and 6th grade travel team, and the Central Mass Shamrock AAU. Football for the Worcester Youth Flag Football league and the Maranville Little League. He was a huge sports fan of the Red Sox, Celtics, Dallas Cowboys and the University of Texas Longhorns. Besides his parents Kyle leaves behind, his brother Bryce Gavin; his maternal grandparents, Thomas Sweeney of Worcester, Ann (Bovenzi) Danielson and Floyd Danielson of St. Cloud, Florida; his paternal grandparents, Daniel and Patricia (Noel) Gavin; his great grandfather Ernest Noel all of Millbury; Aunts, Uncles and Cousins, Steve and June Courville and their children Bill, Steven, Autumn and Aliyssa of Sutton; Gary and Sonya Sweeney and their children Ashley and Brenna of Charlton; and Deb Stevens and her children, Taryn and Meghan of Worcester; and a host of friends. A funeral mass will be held Saturday, July 19th at 10:00 a.m. in Sacred Heart Church, 596 Cambridge St. Burial will follow in St. John Cemetery.
