Joseph C. Iagallo, 86 of Marlborough, passed away unexpectedly, June 19, 2008 in his home. His wife Mildred (Butler) Iagallo died in 1959. He leaves his companion of 26 years, Patricia Mahoney, a son, Joseph B. Iagallo and his wife Nancy of West Boylston; two daughters, Gina Russell and her husband Joseph of Paxton and Lynne Gillis of Worcester; a brother, Michael Iagallo of Spencer and Flagler Beach FL; six grandchildren; one great grandson and three nephews. He is predeceased by a sister Evelyn Iagallo and a son in-law Michael Gillis. Joe was born in Worcester, son of the late Felice A. and Josephine (Ciarasella) Iagallo and has lived in Marlborough for fifty one years. He graduated from North High School, and attended Suffolk University where he studied Environmental Science. He continued his education and received his bachelors degree in Wildlife Management from the University of Maine. He served his nation proudly and was a decorated veteran in the United Stated Army, during World War II. Mr. Iagallo worked for the U.S. Fish & Wildlife, working for the fish hatcheries and habitat protection. Joe also belonged to the honorable ancients. A funeral service will be held Tuesday, June 24th at 10:00 A.M. in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, Marlborough. Calling hours will be held Monday, June 23rd from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. in the funeral home.
