John W. Mahoney, 61, of Auburn, passed away Wednesday, April 30, 2008, in Saint Vincent Hospital. John is survived by a son Jason in California; two brothers, Thomas Mahoney of Worcester, and Michael Mahoney of Oakham; two sister, Janet Landry of Lutz, Florida, and Linda Cavalieri of Auburn; aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews. A sister, Delores Mastrogiovani, pre-deceased him. He was born in Worcester, son of Thomas and Delia (Azzarone) Mahoney. John was working as an auto salesperson for Herb Chambers Hyundai of Auburn. He had previously worked as a carpet layer for many years, throughout the area. He was a member of Triumphant Life Ministries of Worcester and was a member of the Auburn Sportsman's Club. He was an avid hunter, archer, fisherman and fisher of men. John will be remembered for his sense of humor and heart of gold. Calling hours will be held Friday, May 2, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. and Saturday morning, May 3, from 9:30 until 10:30, followed by a funeral service at 10:30 in MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester.
