James L. Langlois, 76 of Shrewsbury, died Thursday morning, April 3, 2008 in Saint Vincent Hospital, Worcester. He leaves his beloved wife of 53 years, Lorraine (Gendron) Langlois, two sons, James Langlois and his wife Joan of Princeton and Robert Langlois and his wife Connie of Mason, Ohio; five daughters, Diane Langlois of San Francisco, Susan Langlois of Northboro, Karen Shammas and her husband Bob of Apex, North Carolina, Janice Langlois of Oakland, California and Carol Langlois and her husband Michael Fernandez of San Francisco; two brothers, Leo Langlois of Kansas and Eugene Langlois of Oxford; six sisters, Leonne Perreault of Gardner, Estelle Griffin of Worcester, Connie Hamel of Baldwinville, Jackie Langlois of Worcester, Paulette Bergeron of Maine and Simone Langlois of Worcester; eight grandchildren, Erin, Bobby, Kevin, Jimmy, Annemarie, Valerie, Peter, and Jason; many nieces and nephews. James was born in Gardner on September 2, 1931, son of the late Ernest J. and Olivine J. (Beaudet) Langlois. He was a graduate of Saint John High School and later attended UMASS Amherst. James was an Army Veteran, was promoted as a Sergeant during the Korean War and has been a Shrewsbury resident since 1961. Mr. Langlois has been working as a plastic engineer for most of his life, working for Tupco, Tupperware and Gillette and becoming owner of Polymercraft in Sutton since 1978. He was a member of Saint Anne Church and the Knights of Columbus in Shrewsbury. James's funeral will be held Monday, April 7th from the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St., with a Mass at 10:00 A.M. in Saint Anne Church, 130 Boston Tpke Road, Shrewsbury. After cremation, James's cremains will be buried in Notre Dame Cemetery, Worcester at a later date. Calling hours will be held from 3:00 P.M. until 6:00 P.M., Sunday, April 6th in the funeral home.
