Helen P. DiRocco, 84, of Worcester passed away Monday, March 10th 2008, in St. Vincent Hospital. Helen's husband of 53 years, Salvatore "Sal" DiRocco, passed away in 2003. Helen is survived by her devoted children, David DiRocco and his wife Susan of Worcester; Judith A. Roy and her husband Roger of Millbury; two brothers, Louis Hegger of Woburn, and George Hegger of Watertown; two sisters, Margaret O'Connell of Bedford, and Mary Reilly of East Falmouth; two grandchildren, Carol Ann and David; many nieces and nephews. Helen was born in Watertown, a daughter of Samuel and Rose (Haffty) Hegger. She grew up in Watertown and has lived here since 1950. Helen worked for Airway Sales & Service more than 25 years as Office Manager before retiring in 1985. She was a member of St Stephen Church, and the St Joseph Church, Auburn Bible Study. She loved to travel, spend days shopping with her daughter, eating her son's gourmet cooking and read. She found her most enjoyment spending time with her family and friends. The funeral will be held Friday, March 14th from the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St with a mass at 11:00 a.m. in St. Stephen Church, 357 Grafton St. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park in Paxton. Friends and relatives are invited to visit with the family from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, March 13th, in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St Stephens's church memorial fund, 357 Grafton St Worcester.
