Hazel M. (Ohan) Samara, of Worcester, passed away peacefully, Sunday, April 27th 2008 in the Holy Trinity Nursing and Rehabilitation center after an Illness. Hazel's husband Russell K. Samara, Sr. passed away in 2002. She is survived by her devoted children, Russell K. Samara, Jr. and his wife Priscilla M Shea. of Northborough; Andrea Dowd and Linda G. Samara both of Worcester; two cherished grandchildren, Alexander and Kimberly Dowd; A sister, Helen Elbag of Watertown; nieces and nephews. Hazel was born in Worcester; her parents were the late Nishan and Mendoohie (Sohigian) Ohan. She has lived here all her life. Hazel was a member of St. George Orthodox Cathedral, and a former member of its women's guild. A devoted wife & mother, she loved entertaining, spending many hours in the kitchen pre paring exquisite meals for family & friends. She also found time for volunteer work at Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 30th at 11:00 a.m. in St George Orthodox Cathedral, 30 Anna St. Burial will follow next to her husband in Hope Cemetery. Friends and relatives are invited to visit with Hazel's family from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 29th in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St. and from 10:30 am to 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 30th in St. George Orthodox Cathedral.
