Hazel R. (Flynn) Gallo, 83, of East Dennis, formerly of Worcester passed away Thursday, June 5, 2008 in her home surrounded by her devoted family. Hazel's husband of 63 years, Paul V. Gallo, passed away May 8th. She is survived by her devoted son, Paul J. Gallo with whom she lived; a cherished granddaughter, Jennifer (Gallo) Laverty; an adored great granddaughter Caelan Laverty; a sister, Virginia M. Johnson and her husband Kenneth; many nieces and nephews. Three sisters, Mary Foley, Rosaleen Flynn and Kathleen Fenlon all pre deceased her. Hazel was born in Worcester; her parents were the late James P. and Mary T. (Sheehan) Flynn. She graduated from Ascension High School, worked over 20 years as senior clerk for New England Power Service before retiring to East Dennis in 1986. Hazel was a member of Our Lady of the Cape Church, the international brotherhood of Electrical workers and the Notre Dame Alumni. Hazel loved her home at the Cape. She enjoyed traveling, spending time with her husband, her son, her grand daughter, great granddaughter, other family and friends. Hazel's funeral will be held Monday, June 9th from the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St. with a mass at 10:00 a.m. in the Cathedral of St. Paul, 15 Chatham St. Burial will follow in V.A. National Cemetery, Bourne Mass. Friends and relatives are invited to visit with the family from 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. prior to the funeral Monday. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
