Frank N. Lapomardo, 82, of Worcester died unexpectedly Wednesday March 5, 2008 in St. Vincent Hospital. Frank is survived by his devoted wife of 56 years Ann (Franciose) Lapomardo, His loving children; a son Frank P. Lapomardo of Holden, three daughters, Carol A. Gambaccini and her husband Albert of Leicester, Linda A. Lapomardo of Worcester, and Lisa A. Lapomardo of Rochdale.Three grandchildren, Gina, Jaime, and Dominic, and a brother Joseph 'Joe Magic" Lapomardo and his wife Carol, many nephews and nieces. A brother John R. Lapomardo predeceased him. Frank was born in Worcester son of the late Gaetano and Josephine ( Marzano) Lapomardo and lived here all his life. He was a graduate of Worcester Boys Trade School, and served in the U.S. Navy during WWII. Frank was a Union Plumber for many years before retiring in 1991 from the Worcester Housing Authority. Frank was a life member of Our Lady Of Mt. Carmel-St Ann Church, The Italian American Veterans Post #3, and the Plumbers and Pipe Fitters Union. Frank enjoyed woodworking and making crafts, but his most precious times were those spent with his family.He was a loving husband, father and grandfather who will be missed dearly. Frank's funeral will be held Monday from the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL 370 Plantation St.with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30AM in Our Lady Of Mt Carmel- St Ann Church 24 Mulberry St. Calling hours at the funeral home are from 4-7PM on Sunday.Interment will be in St. John's Cemetery.
