Doris Durost

Doris E. (Galusha) Durost, 91, of Fiskdale, formerly of Worcester passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, January 27, 2008, in the Radius Healthcare in Southbridge after a short illness. Doris had been living independently in fiskdale until recently. She will be greatly missed by her children, Ronald Durost of Phenix City, Ala., Debra Morrissey and her husband Michael of Newton, Sandra Gunderman and her husband Timothy of Sturbridge; nine grandchildren, seven great grandchildren many nieces, nephews and numerous loved ones she "adopted" over the years. Doris retired from Paul Revere Life Insurance Company after more than 15 years of service. She and her husband of 50 years Howard E. Durost, who passed away in 1992, then lived in Vero Beach, Florida before returning back to the Worcester area. Doris was known for her ready smile and willingness to love anyone who came into the circle of her life. We wish we could hug her one more time, go on one more picnic, or have one more dance. Friends are invited to visit with the family Thursday, January 21st from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St a funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Burial next to her husband will follow in Eastwood Cemetery, Lancaster Ma.
