Cecile G. Nadeau, 91, of Holden, formerly of Hyannis and Fitchburg, passed away, Monday, February 25, 2008, in The Holden Nursing Home. Cecile is survived by many nephews and nieces, including Claire Fleming of Worcester, who was her primary care giver. She also leaves a dear friend of many years, Rita Daigle of Fitchburg. She was the last survivor of seven children, including three brothers, Aristide, Paul, and Aureil Nadeau, and three sisters, Yvonne Roy, Alice Landry, and Maryann Gravel. Cecile was born in St. Pierre, Quebec, the daughter of Pierre and Josephine (Payer) Nadeau, and grew up in Fitchburg. She later moved to Hyannis, where she lived for many years before moving to Holden several years ago. Cecile operated a beauty salon in Hyannis for many years, before she retired. She had previously worked for Cluett & Peabody for many years, while in Fitchburg. She was a member of Saint Joseph Church in Fitchburg. A funeral Mass for Cecile will be celebrated on Thursday, February 28, at 10 a.m. in Saint Joseph's Church, 49 Woodland Street, Fitchburg. Burial will be in Saint Joseph's Cemetery at a later date.
