Catherine M. (Paparella) McNamara, 68, of Worcester, formerly of Commonwealth Ave, passed away Saturday, February 2, 2008, in her home, surrounded by her loving family. She is survived by her husband of forty-seven years, Robert "Warren" McNamara; a daughter, Maribeth Costello and her husband Michael of Medway; three sons, Mark McNamara and his wife Pamela of Dracut, Stephen McNamara of Waltham, and David McNamara and his wife Pamela of Leicester; a brother, Joseph Paparella of Worcester; ten grandchildren, Jonathan, Jennifer, Kaitlyn, Patrick, Nathan, Stephen, Lauren, Ian, Robert, and Rachel; many nieces and nephews. A sister, Eleanor Paparella, pre-deceased her. Catherine was born in Worcester, the daughter of Joseph and Mary (Pusateri) Paparella and graduated from Commerce High School. Mrs. McNamara was a teacher in the Worcester school system for many years, before she retired in 1994. She had previously been a supervisor at New England Telephone. She was a member of Saint Stephen's Church and the "casual club", she enjoyed physical fitness, and was proud of her lifetime membership status at Weight Watchers. She found the most joy from her husband, children, grandchildren, and friends. The funeral for Catherine will be held Thursday, February 7, from MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester, with a Mass at 10 a.m. in Saint Stephen's Church, 357 Grafton Street, Worcester. Interment will follow in Saint John's Cemetery. Calling hours will be held Wednesday, February 6, from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. in the funeral home.
