Armando Rotolo, 85, of Shrewsbury, a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend, passed away peacefully Friday, May 2nd 2008, in the Holy Trinity Nursing and Rehabilitation Center surrounded by his family after a long illness. Armando is survived by his devoted wife and partner of 60 years, Rita (Giuliano) Rotolo; his three beloved children, Armand N. Rotolo and his wife Roberta; Steven J. Rotolo and his wife Wendy, Lucille "Lue" Willis and her husband David all of Shrewsbury; seven grandchildren, Nicholas, and Jennifer Rotolo, Nicole and David Willis, Steven Rotolo, Jr. and his wife Andrea, Leanne and Brian Rotolo; a great grandson, Joseph; many nieces and nephews. Two brothers, Leo and Pasquale Rotolo, and two sisters, Helen Shea and Nancy Palumbo all pre deceased him. Armando was born in Worcester his parents were Francesco and Francesca (Aloia) Rotolo. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and has lived in Shrewsbury more than 52 years. Armando owned and operated B & R Tool and Die Company in West Boylston for more than 23 years. He then was a mechanical engineering instructor for Worcester Polytechnic Institute nine years before retiring. Armando a devoted and loving family man enjoyed the comfort and emotion of being with and around his family. His interests and enjoyment were was his passion for life, vacationing by the ocean and his keen interest in science fiction. He was truly loved and will be missed. The funeral will be held Tuesday, May 6th from the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St. with a mass at 10:30 a.m. in St. Anne's Church, 130 Boston Turnpike Rd. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery. Friends and relatives are invited to visit with the family, Monday, May 5th from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the funeral home.
