Anna S. (Dahrooge) Valeri, 84, of Worcester passed away Friday, July 11th 2008 in St. Vincent Hospital after an illness. Anna's husband George J. Valeri passed away in 1992. She is survived by her devoted son & daughter in law, George C. and Katherine (Bellerose) Valeri; her two adored grandchildren, Christopher M. and Gregory F. Valeri; five cherished great grandchildren, Whitney, Shane, Matthew, Joseph and Steven; many nieces and nephews. Anna was born in Worcester, the last remaining child of sixteen children including her twin Bertha Gardner, born to Elias K. and Malocke M. (George) Dahrooge. She attended Worcester Public schools and has lived here all her life. Anna worked many years for the Worcester School department before retiring. She also worked for Norton Company and Dapol Plastics. Anna was a devoted member of St George Orthodox Cathedral. An active member of it's women's guild and volunteer on many of the church functions. She was an accomplished cook who enjoyed the company of her family and friends especially her great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 15th at 10:00 a.m. in St. George Orthodox Cathedral, 30 Anna St. Burial will follow in Hope Cemetery. CALLING HOURS will be held Monday, July 14th from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Tuesday morning July 15th from 9:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. in St. George Orthodox Cathedral, 30 Anna St. A trisagion service will be held Monday, July 14th at 7:30 p.m. in the church during calling hours. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. George Orthodox cathedral, 30 Anna St. or Holy Trinity Nursing and Rehabilitation center, 300 Barber Ave. 01605.
