Anna (Vacca) Novia, 55, of Las Vegas, formerly of Worcester passed away peacefully Monday, November 26th after a brief battle with cancer. Anna is survived by her husband Steven Novia, Sr; two sons, Eric M. Kniskern of Lancaster, PA, and Brian J. Kniskern of Oxford; A daughter, Amy M. Generelli of Worcester; a step son, Steven Novia, Jr. of Reno, NV; one brother, James F. Vacca, Jr. of Grafton; five sisters, Nancy Billings of Grafton, Sandra Zimage of Las Vegas, Jamie Ford of Dudley, Laurie Vacca of Webster, and Frances Kemp of Columbia, MO; four granddaughters and a grandson; many nieces and nephews. Anna was born in Worcester, a daughter of James F. Vacca, Sr. and Rita (Biando) Vacca. She graduated from Tahanto Regional High school in 1970 and lived in Worcester before moving to Las Vegas, 9 years ago. Anna worked as a Customer Service Specialist for Citibank in Las Vegas. She previously worked more than 20 years for Allmerica in Worcester. The funeral will be held Friday, December 7th from the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St. with a mass at 11:00 a.m. in Our Lady of Mt Carmel Church, 24 Mulberry St. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery, Boylston, MA. Calling hours will be held Thursday, December 6th from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the Funeral home.
