Alexander S. "Alex" Prusaczyk, 83, of Worcester passed away Saturday, February 9th, 2008 in the University of Massachusetts Hospital. Alex is survived by his wife of 45 years, Catherine M. (Castano) Prusaczyk; many nieces and nephews. Two brothers, Bernard and John Prusaczyk, and three sisters, Josephine Kaminski, Adele Yachimski, and Phyllis Prusaczyk pre deceased him. Alex was born in Worcester; his parents were the late John and Rose Prusaczyk. He graduated from St. Mary's High School where he was a standout in varsity Basketball and Baseball. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II, and has lived here all his life. Alex worked as a shipper for General Medical Supply many years before retiring. He was a member of St. Anne Church. In his youth Alex was a semi pro basketball and softball player. A funeral mass will be celebrated Wednesday, February 13th at 10:30 a.m. in St. Anne's Church, 130 Boston Turnpike Rd. Shrewsbury. Burial will follow in Mt View Cemetery. There are no calling hours.
