Albert C. Nasitano, 81, of Cherry Hill, N.J. formerly of Worcester passed away Monday, May 19th 2008 in the University of Pennsylvania Hospital in Philadelphia. Albert was born in Worcester; his parents were Carmelo and Maria Carmela (Gurgone) Nasitano. He graduated from Classical High, class of 1944, and served his country proudly during World War II, in the U.S. Navy. After the service, Albert earned his bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute in 1952. He has lived in New Jersey since then. Albert is survived by his two sisters, Louise M. Sama and her husband Joseph R. Sama and Elena P. Nasitano all of Worcester; four nephews, Dr. Ralph J. Sama and his wife Phyllis of Shrewsbury, Joseph M. Sama and his wife Cynthia of Worcester, Stephen J. Sama and his wife Carol of Windsor, CT and Robert W. Sama and his wife Mary of Ayer. Seven grandnieces and grandnephews. Albert was employed by the State of New Jersey in the Department of Systems and Communications many years until he retired. He previously worked as an Electrical Engineer for the RCA Corporation over 20 years. After retirement Albert volunteered his time for the Samaritan Hospice in Marlton, NJ. and the Jewish Family & Children's Services in Cherry Hill N.J. The funeral will be held Friday, May 23rd from the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St. with a Mass at 10:00 a.m. in Our Lady of Loreto Church, 37 Massasoit Rd. Burial will be in St. John Cemetery. Friends and relatives are invited to visit with the family from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, May 22nd in Funeral Home.
