Alan D. Fugere (Al), 63 of Princeton, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 7, 2021 at UMass Memorial Medical Center with his loving children by his side after a brief illness.
Alan was born in Worcester, Ma. He grew up in Shrewsbury where he was a graduate of Shrewsbury High School in 1975. Alan was the non-destructive and ultrasonic testing manager for FIBA Technologies for 40 years. Alan enjoyed fishing, hunting, golfing, skiing, bowling and softball in his younger years and spending time with his family especially his grandchildren.
Alan is survived by two sons, Steven Fugere and his wife Kristine of Hudson and Nicholas Fugere and his significant other Lindsey of Gardner; twin daughters, Nicole Fugere and her significant other Jeffrey of Princeton with whom he lived and Kristy Fugere and her significant other Joseph of Berlin; his mother, Ruth E. (Sharp) Downs of Worcester; two brothers, John Fugere and his significant other Joan of Worcester and Scott Fugere and his wife Christine of Jacksonville, FL; two sisters, Donna Fulginiti and her husband Bob of Leicester and Kathy Sandstrom and her husband Gerry of Dudley; a step-brother, Louis Downs and his wife Christine of Gardner; six grandchildren, Julianna, Hunter, Scarlett, James, Christopher and Bennett; many nieces and nephews. Alan was predeceased by his son, Alan D. Fugere, Jr., his father, Donald A. Fugere and his stepfather, Robert M. Downs.
Services for Alan will be held on Friday, December 17th from the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St., Worcester with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am in St. Luke the Evangelist Church, 70 West Main St., Westboro. A burial will be held at St. Luke’s Cemetery, Westboro. Relatives and friends are invited to a period of calling hours on Thursday, December 16, 2021 from 4-7 pm in the funeral home.
