Albina A. (Matulis) Bartkus, 90 of Worcester, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 19, 2018 at Care One in Millbury surrounded by her loving family.
Albina was born in Worcester, daughter of the late Charles and Mary (Maximas) Matulis and lived in Worcester all her life where she was a graduate of Commerce High School. Albina worked in the medical records department of St. Vincent’s Hospital, retiring in 1993. Albina was a member of the former St Charles Borromeo Catholic Church. She loved playing BINGO, going to casinos, playing cards, water walking and went on 33 cruises.
Albina is survived by three sons, John M. Bartkus and his wife Linda of Leicester, Michael E. Bartkus and his wife Jaqueline of West Boylston and Philip M. Bartkus and his wife Paula of Oakham; four daughters, Susan M. Beauchene of Millbury, Barbara A. Cole and her husband Ellis of Ashburnham, Mary T. Canavan of Dudley and Paula M. Gendreau of Long Island. She was predeceased by two brothers, Leonard and Constantine Matulis and two sisters Eugenia Nelson and Ruth Ashmankas. She has fourteen grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, December 22, 2018 at 11am in St. Brigid Church, 59 N Main St, Millbury, MA . Relatives and friends are invited to Calling Hours from 10:00 am to 11:00 am in the church prior to the Funeral Mass. There are no calling hours in the funeral home. Burial will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery, Worcester. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, Worcester. Those who wish to remember Albina by way of a memorial tribute are kindly asked to consider St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital, 501 St Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105
Per Albina’s request, please do not wear all black to her funeral.
