Alexander "Alex" Torres, 33 of Auburn passed away with loved ones at his side, Friday, April 23, 2021 after a battle with COVID-19.
Alex was born and raised in Worcester, the son of Clara Aviles and the late Luis Torres. He attended Burncoat High School, married the "Love of his Life" Rosa E. Nieves on October 7, 2011. Together they began their life in Worcester before purchasing their dream home in Auburn last year. They had just celebrated 17 years together. Alex worked as a PCA for the Starvos Company for over 6 years.
He is survived by his love Rosa; the four children he cherished, Jaaliyah, Jenilee, Alex "Nene" Jr., and Adrian, all of Auburn; his mother Clara; a brother, Luis Torres, and a sister Lissette Ojeda; his maternal grandparents, Carmen and Armando Aviles; his aunt and uncle, Lisa and Eric LaPierre, his three nieces, Shani, Jani, Milly and nephew Cass; Jose "Papa" Ojeda who raised him from infancy. In addition, Alex leaves many other nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
He was a member of St John's Church, and an active volunteer with his wife in support of its Food for the poor. An avid sports fan Alex, loved to watch and play baseball and follow all the Boston sports teams, especially the Celtics, Pats, and Red Sox. In Alex's life, his wife, and children always came first. He was devoted to them and devoted to providing a better life and remained devoted to them through all life's challenges. Alex was a special person who enjoyed, travel notably to Puerto Rico to see family, cruising the warmth and beauty of the Caribbean, music, and family dinners. He believed in family and friends and had room in his heart for everyone. His passing leaves a hole in our hearts but his loving and caring soul will live on in our memories.
Friends and relatives are invited to visit with the family during calling hours Thursday, April 29th from 4 to 7 pm in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St. His funeral will be held Friday, April 30th at 11:00 am in St Johns Church, 44 Temple St. Burial will follow in St John's Cemetery.
