Alfred J. Pasquerella

Alfred J. Pasquerella, 80, of DeMarco Terrace, Worcester, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 23, 2018 at St. Vincent’s Hospital surrounded by his loving family.

Alfred was born in Worcester, a son of the late Alfred P. and Catherine P. (Gentile) Pasquerella.  He graduated from North High School and later received his associate’s degree in accounting from Becker Junior College.  Alfred worked for over 30 years as an accountant for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts before he retired and also during that time he would work part-time for American Printing and Envelope.

Alfred was a devoted and faithful catholic.  He was a longtime member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church where he would teach CCD for many years.  He was a member and past president of the Order of Sons of Italy, a grand knight and longtime member of the Knights of Columbus, the mayor of the Boys Club and was also an honorary mayor for the day for the City of Worcester.  Alfred loved music and was extremely dedicated to his family.

Alfred is survived by his sister, Patricia A. Guinto of Worcester; two nieces, Christine Seger and her husband Joel and Gina Letourneau and her husband Robert all of Worcester; two nephews, Robert Guinto and his wife Nichole of Webster and Joseph Guinto and his fiancé Katie of Worcester; four great nieces, Katelyn, Ariana, Sarah and Olivia; two great nephews, Ryan and Cameron; a great great nephew, Leonardo.  Besides his parents, he is predeceased by his brother, Joseph Pasquerella and a brother-in-law, Anthony J. Guinto.

Services for Alfred will be held on Friday, April 27, 2018 from the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St., Worcester with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 am in Our Lady of Loreto Church, 37 Massasoit Rd., Worcester.  Burial will follow in St. John’s Cemetery, Worcester.  A period of calling hours will be held on Thursday, April 26^th from 4-7 pm in the funeral home.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to: Catholic Charities Worcester County, 10 Hammond St., Worcester, MA. 01610.  To share your thoughts and memories of Alfred, please visit his personal guestbook at www.mercadantefuneral.com
