Anabela Gonçalves Euzebio passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones on Tuesday, May 14, 2024 at UMass Memorial Medical Center.
Anabela was born to Américo dos Anjos Gonçalves and Maria Clotilde Domingos Gonçalves in Angola, Africa on April 8, 1970. In the early years of her childhood, she relocated with her parents and brother to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil where she went to school at Nossa Senhora da Piedade and later graduated from Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Rio de Janeiro. Later, Anabela took a chance and moved to the United States of America in her 20’s. This was not an easy decision for her, but she gained independence and started her new life with great ambitions. While working full-time and simultaneously enrolled at Bristol-Plymouth Regional Technical School, Anabela graduated on June 24, 2004 as a nurse.
Throughout Anabela’s nursing career, she found peace and her true calling as a nurse at Notre Dame Health Care in Worcester, MA.
Although being a nurse was her aspiration, Anabela discovered the greatest joy in her life was being a mother to her son, Nicholas Daniel Euzebio.
When Anabela was not at work, she enjoyed planting flowers in her garden and being in nature.
Anabela was known for her kind-spirit and nurturing soul. She loved whole-heartedly and cherished spending time with those she loved, most importantly her son Nicholas, her long-time friend Andre and his partner Andre Lima, as well as her dog Layla. Anabela did not allow distance to keep her from visiting her family in Brazil, Portugal and New Bedford. Anabela truly treasured spending time with family.
Anabela is survived by her loving son, Nicholas Daniel Euzebio, her mother Maria Clotilde Domingos Gonçalves, her brother Carlos Alberto Domingos Gonçalves, two nieces Júlia Lemos dos Santos Gonçalves and Beatriz Correa Gonçalves, many aunts, uncles and cousins. Anabela was predeceased by her father, Américo dos Anjos Gonçalves.
