Andrea J. Saksa, 56, a lifelong resident of Worcester passed away Thursday, October 27, 2022, surrounded by family. She joins in heaven, her infant son Michael, soulmate, Thomas Nazario-Colon, and parents.
Andrea was born in Worcester, one of four children of Bartolo “Joe” and Mary E. (Fisher) Saksa. Raised in Worcester, Andrea worked in the foodservice industry serving the needs of her customers. Andrea spent over 34 years in love with her partner and soulmate Thomas Nazario-Colon, before Thomas left her side on August 19, 2012. Andrea continued to lead her family as matriarch until her passing.
Andrea is survived by the large family she loved so much: her children, Lydia, Thomas, Andrea, Michelle, Angel, Sarahi William and Debra Nazario-Colon; A brother, Andrew J. Saksa; two sisters, Lynne A. and Debra A. Saksa all of Worcester; 29 grandchildren she adored and cherished; three great grandchildren; Many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. A son, Michael, passed away as an infant.
She was a member of Saint Joan of Arc Church and a devoted Catholic who helped others through her guidance. Along with her Love Tommy, her children always came first in her life no matter what. She was the backbone of the family and remained devoted to her nearest and dearest, especially her beautiful grandchildren. She was a beautiful person who enjoyed the simple pleasures of life; spending time with family and friends, family dinners, travel, cooking, and babysitting and raising her grandchildren. She truly believed that faith, family, and friends were the most important parts of life and had room in her heart for everyone she met. Andrea very generous with her love, time, and resources, and helped anyone she could. Her unwavering faith kept her grounded and helped her through life's challenges. Her passing leaves a hole in our hearts but her loving and caring soul will not be forgotten.
A period of calling hours will be held Thursday, November 3rd from 9:30 to 11:30 am in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St., Worcester, followed by a procession to St. Joan of Arc Church, 570 Lincoln St., where Mass will be celebrated at 12:00 noon. Burial will be private: The family request that flowers be omitted.
