Angel A. DeCastro, 29, passed away on Monday, July 30, 2018, after an accident at his work.
Angel is survived by his daughter, Sadeigh DeCastro of Worcester; his “wifey” and mother of his daughter, Mercedes Balcewicz, both of Worcester; his mother and step-father, Maria DeCastro-Velazquez and Ricardo Velazquez of New York City; his maternal grandmother, Leonor Cintron of Worcester; a brother, Jorge C. Henriquez of Queens, NY; four sisters, Melissa E. Carter of New York; Angelica M. DeCastro, Melanie DeCastro, and Carmen Ortiz, all of Worcester; many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews. He was predeceased by his father, Gene Carter. Angel was born in Queens, New York, and moved to Worcester, when he was young. He graduated from Saint Casmir School and ACI Institute.
Angel worked as a roofer for Kidd-Luukko Roofing, having previously been a driver for Oshe Transport in Worcester. He had also worked as a painter for Atlantic Wall Covering in Worcester. He loved to be with his family and his daughter, Sadeigh was the cherished light of his life.
Calling Hours for Angel will be on Monday, August 6, from 3 p.m. until 7 p.m. in MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester. A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, August 7, at 11 a.m. in the funeral home. Interment will follow at Hope Cemetery, Worcester.
