Angela (Lina) Colletta (Corricelli), 81, of Vieste (Foggia), Italy, passed away peacefully after a long illness on March 3rd surrounded by her sisters Caterina, Michelina, Lucia and Nicoletta, brothers Giorgio, Franco, Antonio, as well as her sisters-in-law, and many nieces and nephews who never left her side.
Angela was predeceased by her husband, Ignazio, her parents, Isabella and Matteo, and sister Dorotea.
Angela was the quintessential Italian mom and nonna who lived for her children. She leaves behind three sons and their wives: Giuseppe and Ellen Colletta, Matteo and Debbie Colletta, and Leonardo and LaPhael Colletta, and grandchildren Julian, Ignazio (Joe), Katie, Robert, Angela, and Alex, in addition to her great grandchildren Pino and Mia.
Angela worked hard her entire life to provide for her family. She worked several years in Germany at the start of her married life in the 1960’s. She and her husband later returned to Italy to raise their children and in 1974 moved to Worcester, MA to ensure that they had a good future. She succeeded in that - here in Worcester, she worked at Hersch Neckwear for 18 years and in 1991 moved back to Italy where every summer she enjoyed visits from her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed spoiling them all with love, food and gifts. She will be remembered for her kind heart, her generosity and her delicious cooking.
A Mass of remembrance will be held on March 13th at 10:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Mount Carmel and Our Lady of Loreto Parish in Worcester.
