It is with sadness that we announce the passing of a dedicated wife, mother and nana, Ann Marie (Buduo) Cormier, a longtime Worcester resident who left us on Saturday, January 4, 2025, at the age of 78, surrounded by the ones she loved after a series of health challenges.
Ann Marie was born on July 14, 1946, one of seven children of Andrew Buduo, Sr. and Anna (Bronzo) Buduo. She was raised a part of the Italian neighborhood of Shrewsbury Street, graduated from Commerce High School and earned her associate degree from Becker Junior College. Ann Marie then joined the family business Buduo Trucking where she served as office manager.
Ann Marie is survived by the “Love of her life” and husband for the last 28 years, James E. Cormier; her devoted and cherished son whom she was so proud of, Joseph Buduo, and his wife Mary of Shrewsbury; stepchildren, Stephen Cormier and his wife Christine, John Cormier and his wife Jodi, James Cormier, Jr., and Derek Cormier and his wife Bonnie; numerous grandchildren including, Joseph Buduo and his fiancée Leanna, Alec Buduo, and Gianna Buduo; many great and great-grandchildren; a brother Daniel Buduo and his wife Barbara; three sisters, Phyllis Davis, Dorothy Marin, Beverly Bartolomei and her husband Raymond; a sister-in-law Dorothy Buduo; nieces, nephews, and extended family who had a profound relationship and was in constant contact with Ann Marie. In addition to her parents, her brother Andrew Buduo, Jr., her sister Barbara Tripp, and a stepson Mark James Cormier predeceased her.
Ann Marie was a member of Saint Anne’s Church in Shrewsbury. She was the backbone of her family and remained devoted to them throughout life. A quiet, beautiful woman who enjoyed the simple pleasures of life; cooking, notably pizzas and soup and her famous hot peppers, spending time with family and friends, family dinners, crossword puzzles, summers on Cape Cod at Seaside Village with the family, collecting angels and butterfly knickknacks. Ann Marie truly believed that faith, family and friends were the most important parts of life and had room in her heart for everyone she met. Notably, anytime Ann Marie went out, she was impeccably dressed and fully coordinated with what she had on. Nothing was out of place, and everything matched. Her passing leaves a void in our hearts but her loving and caring soul will not be forgotten.
Friends and relatives are invited to calling hours Thursday, January 9, from 4 pm to 7 p.m., in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation Street. Her funeral will be held Friday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home. Entombment will follow in St. John Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, memorial remembrances in her name can be made to the Padre Pio Foundation of America, 463 Main St, Cromwell, CT 06416. www.padrepio.com/donate
