Ann Marie Verdolino

Ann Marie Verdolino, 75, a life-long resident of Worcester, passed away on Sunday, June 23, 2024, at UMass Hospital in Worcester, following a brief illness.

Ann Marie was born in Worcester, daughter of the late Nicholas J. and Julia A. (Masiello) Verdolino. She is survived by her sister-in-law, Frances P. Verdolino of Worcester; a nephew, Santino J. Pellegrino of Worcester; an aunt, many cousins and her life-long friends, Camille M. (Chilorio) LaLiberte of Worcester and Rosemarie (Buffone) Courville of Auburn and her friend and caretaker, Christine Laramie of Worcester. Besides her parents she was pre-deceased by her brother, Nicholas J. Verdolino Jr.

Ann Marie graduated from Worcester State University and dedicated her career to education; she was a high school teacher in the Worcester Public School System, teaching primarily at South High, before retiring in 2006. She was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel-Our Lady of Loreto Parish. She enjoyed crocheting, reading, and movies. Ann Marie loved animals and had many dogs during her lifetime. She also found great joy in the times she spent with family and friends. She will be sadly missed by those who knew and loved her. 

Calling Hours will be on Tuesday, July 2, from 5 pm until 8 pm in MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester and again on Wednesday, July 3, from 9:30 am until 10:30 am, before departing the funeral home at 10:45 am in precession to an 11 am Funeral Mass at Our Lady of Loreto Church, 33 Massasoit Road, Worcester. Interment will follow at Saint John’s Cemetery, Worcester.
