Anna M Papagni

Anna (Ciance) Papagni, a life-long resident of Worcester passed away surrounded by family Thursday, July 18th, 2019, joining in heaven her husband and the “Love of her life” for 52 years who passed away on this day, July 18th in 2002, 17 years ago. 

Anna was born in Worcester, the daughter of Italian immigrants Joseph and Jennie (Andolina) Ciance.  She graduated from Commerce High School and married John P. Papagni. They then settled in Worcester to raise ther family.  Anna worked many years for the City of Worcester at Burncoat Junior/Senior High School before retiring. 

Anna is survived by, her two sons, Anthony J. Papagni and his fiancée, Patricia Belanger with whom she lived, Joseph A. Papagni and his wife Gerstin of Worcester;  four grandchildren she adored,  Jenny, Angelique and her husband Christopher, Michelle, John and his fiancée Shana; four great grandchildren, Boston, Belle, Emma and Zachary; A brother Paul Ciance and wife Judy of Florida; Many nieces, nephews and extended family members.  In addition to her parents and husband, a brother, Joseph Ciance predeceased her. 

Anna was a member of Our Lady of Loreto Church.   She was a beautiful person who enjoyed the simple pleasures of life; spending time with family and friends, family dinners, the holidays, welcoming the neighborhood children into her home when her children were young, helping care for her grandchildren, watching them grow and succeed, playing cards, reading, crocheting and most of all cooking.  Her unwavering faith in family, kept her grounded and focused in ensuring her family through life's challenges.   Her passing leaves a hole in our hearts but her loving and caring soul will never be forgotten.

Friends and relatives are invited to attend calling hours, Monday, July 22nd from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St.   Her funeral service will be celebrated at 10:00 am, Tuesday, July 23rd at 10:00 am in the funeral home.  Entombment next to John will follow in Notre Dame Mausoleum.
