Anna “Nina” (Palermo) Rosiello, 85, a longtime Shrewsbury resident, passed away peacefully, Sunday, June 12th, 2022, joining in heaven her one true love, best friend, and husband of 52 years Joseph J. Rosiello.
Anna was born November 24, 1936, in Worcester a daughter of Saverino and Carolina (Sabetta) Palermo. She graduated from Commerce High School and has lived in Shrewsbury for over 60 years. Anna worked as a Chart Analyst at UMass-Memorial Healthcare for more than 31 years before retiring in 2001.
Anna is survived by two sisters, Theresa Mascia and Marie Testa both of Shrewsbury and two brothers, Armando Palermo and his wife Elina of Cape Cod and Florida and Anthony Palermo of Worcester, along with many nieces, nephews, and extended family members. She was predeceased by a sister, Philomena “Phyllis” Maroney, and a brother, Eugene Palermo who was killed in action during World War II.
Anna was a member and Medical Clinic Volunteer of St Anne’s Church in Shrewsbury. A member of the Shrewsbury Women’s Club, and Hail Mary Club. She enjoyed Summers on the Cape, Yoga Classes, swimming at the YMCA and reading.
In accordance with Anna’s wishes to be laid to rest quietly and peacefully next to her beloved husband, a graveside service will be held Friday, June 17th at 11:00 am in Mt View Cemetery, Boylston Street, Shrewsbury section HH. There are no calling hours. Memorial contributions in her name can be made to St Anne’s Medical Clinic or St Anne’s Human Services, 130 Boston Turnpike Shrewsbury. The MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME AND CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St is honored to assist the family with arrangements.
Anna wishes to thank her nephew Jack and niece Susan for the care and love they gave to her during her declining health.
