Anne (Pezzella) Carroll

Anne M. (Pezzella) Carroll, 97 of Worcester died peacefully Monday July 27, 2020  surrounded by her loved ones. Anne leaves her daughter Loretta Carroll with whom she lived with for many years, a son John J Carroll of Worcester and his wife Laura, and special friend Jackie. Anne also leaves her grandchildren Nathan, Michael, and Chelsea and a great grandson Nathan. many loving nephews and nieces and great nephews and great nieces. She was predeceased by her sister Jennie Cicio, and  four brothers, Patsy, Joseph, Ralph, and Anthony( Bushet) Pezzella. Anne also leaves her loyal friends Millie Bongovio and Chickie Antul.

Anne was born in Worcester daughter of Arcangelo and Lucia (Ascione) Pezzella and lived here all her life. She attended the Church of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel-St Ann, and was a member of the San Vitaliano Women’s Society. Anne was one of a kind. She lived on Shamrock St most of her life, some would say she was the Matriarch of the Shamrock St. lady’s group. She had an uncanny personality that would make you laugh no matter what the occasion. She was a good mother, sister, aunt, and grandmother who was loved very much. Anne will be missed terribly by her family and friends.

Loretta would like to thank the Jewish Hospice Team for their compassionate and wonderful care of Anne and their kindness to Loretta.

Anne’s funeral will be held on Friday July 31, 2020 from the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL 370 Plantation St. A calling hour will be held from 8:30 to 10:15 in the funeral home prior to leaving for a Mass of Christian burial at 11:AM in the Church of St Bernard’s of Our Lady of Providence 236 Lincoln St.  State regulations for social distancing and masks must be worn in the funeral home and Church. Interment will be in St. John’s Cemetery will be private. In lieu of flowers, Anne loved cats so in her memory contributions may be made to Second Chance Animal Shelter in care of Karen Powers 831 Main St. Worcester, MA.01601.
