Anthony V. Capozzo, 76, a lifelong resident of Worcester passed away unexpectedly at home Monday, January 13, 2025.
Anthony was born in Worcester, one of two sons of Anthony J. and Margaret (Lomatire) Capozzo, he graduated from North High school and attended several technical schools to support his position as a technician for Metso Corporation many years before retiring. Anthony raised his children in West Boylston and returned to live in the home he grew up in for the last years of his life.
Tony is survived by two children he cherished, a daughter, Melissa J. Capozzo of Worcester and Matthew R. Capozzo of Sorrento LA; a brother, Michael S. Capozzo and his fiancé Julie Goodwin of Boylston; one niece, Jacyln Schneider and her husband James, and great grandniece Ivy; many extended family members and friends.
Anthony was a member of Our Lady of Loreto Church. He was a man with a strong faith, who believed in a higher power and spirit guiding him. Tony was also an avid musician who had a passion for playing the drums and listening to music. He loved Boston sports and was a dedicated fan of the Celtics and Red Sox.
A period of calling hours will be held Friday, January 24th from 9:00 am to 10:30 am in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St, followed by a procession to Our Lady of Loreto Church, 37 Massasoit Rd where his Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11:00 am. Entombment will follow in Notre Dame Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers memorial remembrances in his name can be made to The American Heart Association, 93 Worcester Street, Wellesley, MA. www.heart.org/donate
