Anthony F. DiLeo, 48, a lifelong Worcester resident passed away peacefully Wednesday, May 26th 2021 surrounded by the ones he loved after a courageous battle with cancer.
Anthony was born in Worcester, one of six children of Janet E. (Lasses) DiLeo and the late Vincent P. DiLeo. He graduated from Worcester Vocational Technical School with a focus in electrical, then began a 20-year plus career working with his brother, Vincent as a Construction Manager, with Electrical Construction & Contracting Inc. (EC&C)
Anthony is survived by the “Love of his Life” and wife Wendy Jo. (Ellis) DiLeo; two children, Anthony DiLeo II and Dylan Ellis both of Worcester; his mother, Janet E. DiLeo; two brothers, Vincent S. DiLeo and his wife Lisa of Sutton, Chester P. DiLeo and his fiancée Shanaz Rahin of Shrewsbury; three sisters, Janet E. Bolivar and her husband Mark of Worcester, Pamela H. McConnell of San Antonio, Texas, and Debra A DiLeo of Millbury who was Tony’s best friend and companion throughout his life; Many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. His father Vincent P. DiLeo passed away in 2015.
A kind, gentle, selfless man always helping and placing friends and family first, with an enormous knowledge and ability to fix or construct anything; Anthony, had a strong work ethic. He was a master construction guru; Not only was he a skilled carpenter, he was also a skilled electrician, welder, HVAC tech, and mechanic who loved what he did, and working alongside his brother. He also cherished life with Wendy and found great enjoyment being with her, attending concerts, car shows or the annual Hot Air Balloon festival at Lake George. Anthony loved. hiking, traveling, good food, loved going out for breakfast, Dunkin’ Donut’s ice coffee, shooting range, guns, and cars. He was so excited about getting his license to carry and could not wait to purchase his first gun.
Tony’s kindness, laughter and smile will be missed by everyone he came in contact with. He has left a huge impression on everyone’s heart.
Friends and relatives are invited to calling hours, Sunday, June 6th from 3 pm to 7 pm in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St. His funeral service will be celebrated Monday June 7, at 11 am in the funeral home. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in his name can be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St Jude Way, Memphis Tenn.
