Anthony Festa, 85, a long-time resident of Atlanta Street in Worcester, passed away on Monday, March 24, 2025, at UMass Hospital in Worcester. His wife, Prudence (Bassan) Festa, predeceased him in August 2022.
Anthony is survived by his two devoted sons, Michael Festa and his husband Todd of Worcester and Richard Festa and his wife Kimberly of Auburn and; two grandsons, Sean Festa and his wife Mari of Cumberland, RI, and Matthew Festa and his wife Emily of Chelmsford. Anthony was born in Worcester, son of the late Anthony S. and Rosina M. (Palermo) Festa and has lived here all his life. He served in the United States Army Reserve.
Anthony worked at Norton Company, now Saint Gobain for over thirty-one years, retiring in 1996 as the supervisor of the scale department. He was a devout Catholic and was a member of the former Saint Margaret Mary Church, Saint Anne’s in Shrewsbury, and Saint Joan of Arc. He was blessed with the gift of conversation and could easily captivate an audience with his stories. He enjoyed dancing, especially with his wife, Prudence, at weddings and parties. He enjoyed talking about cars and motors and was a talented wood worker.
Calling Hours will be on Thursday, March 27, from 4 pm until 7 pm in MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester. His Funeral Service will be on Friday, March 28, at 10 am in the funeral home. Interment will follow at Saint John’s Cemetery, Worcester.
