Anthony Francis Locantore, 93, of Worcester, MA passed away May 18, 2023, at Christopher House after a period of declining health. Born in Worcester to Joseph and Addolorata (Parisi) Locantore, he was the beloved husband of the late Dorothy A. (Turco) Locantore and cherished father of Anthony P. Locantore and his wife Donna, of Sturbridge and Paul A. Locantore of Worcester. In addition to his wife and parents, he was predeceased by his siblings, brothers Nunzio, Vito, Dominic, and Rocky Locantore, and sisters Mary and Vera Locantore, Carmella Cammuso, Vincenza (Chin) Pultorak and Grace Almonte.
Anthony was a Purple Heart Korean War Veteran of the U.S. Army. He was a hardworking man who always took care of his family, having worked many yeas as a mail carrier for the U.S. Postal Service before retiring at age 62 to care for his wife. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Greendale Men’s Club, and Post 201, and he enjoyed the game of golf in his spare time.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, May 22 at 12:00 pm at Our Lady of Loreto Church, 33 Massasoit Road, Worcester, followed by burial in St. John’s Cemetery, 260 Cambridge Street, Worcester. Friends may call on the family on Monday, May 22 from 10:00 am to 11:15 am in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester.
