Anthony N. Pennucci

Anthony N. Pennucci, 87, of Shrewsbury, passed away in his home on Friday, January 24, 2025, just eleven months after the death of his beloved wife of fifty-eight years, Patricia A. (Fell) Pennucci.

Anthony is survived by his sister, Margaret Corda of Grafton; a sister-in-law, Joan McManus of Northbridge; many nieces and nephews, including Francine R. DiRoberto of Millbury, who took loving care of Anthony as his primary care-giver; great nieces and nephews; great-great nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, Dominic Pennucci and by a sister, Grace Paquette. Anthony was born in Worcester, son of the late, Nicola and Frances (Perna) Pennucci. He grew up in Worcester and graduated from Sacred Heart Academy. 

Anthony worked for many years as a transportation officer with the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Department of Youth Services. In his retirement, he worked as a security officer. He was a member of Saint Mary’s Church in Shrewsbury. He and Patricia lived a wonderful life together and had the great fortune to travel all over, including taking cruises, and visiting Europe. He enjoyed his weekly gatherings for coffee at the Shrewsbury Senior Center, where he could visit with his Thursday Men’s Group.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the Jewish Healthcare Hospice, especially Dina, Gina, and Kate, for the wonderful care they showed Anthony. They would also like to thank his Senior Helpers, especially Rosa.

Calling Hours will be on Thursday morning, January 30, from 10 am until 11 am, followed by Funeral Service at 11 am in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester. Interment will be held privately.
