Antoinette (Altomare) Boffoli

June 13, 1930 — July 12, 2022

Antoinette M “Ann” (Altomare) Boffoli, 92, of Worcester passed peacefully Tuesday, July 12, 2022, with the ones she loved gathered at her side.

The Matriarch of the Boffoli family, Antoinette created five  generations of her family. She guided, loved, and watched over them her entire life. She was so proud of how her family succeeded.

Predeceased by her husband Leo M. Boffoli, Sr,  in 1994, Antoinette leaves, 5 children, Anne Marie Evans and her husband William of Worcester, Salvatore Boffoli of Florida, Mary Jo Tobin and her husband Thomas Tobin, Sr. of Pompano beach, Florida, Lee Ann Cipro of Shrewsbury,  Leo M. “Chip” Boffoli Jr and his wife Sarah of Sterling; a sister, Helen Lazzaro and her husband Armando,  17 Grandchildren;  several great and great – great grandchildren; Her former son and daughter in law, Vito Cipro, Sr and Susan Boffoli who she loved dearly; Many nieces, nephews and extended family members.  She was born in 1930 in Worcester, the youngest of seven children of Italian immigrants Salvatore and Mary J. (Capalbo) Altomare and has lived in Worcester all her life.

Antoinette loved to dance, always the highlight of any gathering. Even in her later years, Antoinette  was the last one  off the dance floor. Most recently she danced at her great granddaughter’s high school graduation party just 2 weeks ago.  She loved her music and playing the lottery. Antoinette was a self-taught  woman and a career civil service employee. She could accomplish  anything. Antoinette was a  strong determined woman, who worked at the Worcester Police Department, Worcester County Hospital, Registry of Motor Vehicles and retired from the Massachusetts Turnpike Authority. A spitfire of energy she taught strength, determination, and perseverance. She was the first woman union representative in Massachusetts during her career. Antoinette  at onetime won the title of “Christmas in July” at the Trump Towers in New York. She always dressed impeccable, nothing ever out of place.

A period of calling hours will be held, Tuesday, July 19th from 10:00 am to 12:00 noon in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St followed by a prayer service. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park in Paxton. In lieu of flowers memorial remembrances in her name can be made to the Vets Inc, 69 Grove Street, 01608.
