Antoinette R. (Mele) Raddi, 95 of Worcester, died peacefully Thursday October 18, 2018 in St. Vincent Hospital surrounded by her loving family. Her Husband Giovanni “John” Raddi died in 1999. Antoinette is survived by her loving son Louis J. Raddi and his wife Heather and proud grandmother to Ethan and Brandan Raddi, a sister Dolores Bourn and her husband Robert of Worcester. Antoinette also leaves many nieces and nephews in Italy and here, among them her god daughter Alesandria (Sandy) Flynn, Joanne Moloney, Donna Balcewicz, Debra Bourn-Hammerle and her god son Robert Bourn Jr. Antoinette was predeceased by a brother Joseph Mele and his wife Rose.
Antoinette was born in Worcester daughter of the late Allessandro and Rose (Bovenzi) Mele and lived here all her life. She attended the David Fanning Girls Trade School in Worcester. Antoinette was a dedicated worker and was employed at the Sealtest Ice cream, Bee Plastics, Comfort Products Company, and David Clark Company for many years before she retired. She was a life member of the Church of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel-St Ann, its Golden Years Club, and the Women’s Guild. Antoinette was very proud of her Sparanise heritage and was a longtime member of the San Vitaliano Women’s Society. Antoinette enjoyed doing puzzles, crafts, cross stitching, going to bingo, and enjoyed volunteering for many church activities especially the Mt. Carmel Christmas Fair and Italian Festivals. Although her most treasured times were when she was with her family, especially her grandchildren. She will be sadly missed by her family and friends.
Antoinette’s funeral will be held on Monday October 22, from the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL 370 Plantation St. with a Mass of Christian burial at 10:00AM in the Church of St. Anne 130 Boston Turnpike, Shrewsbury. Calling hours will be held on Sunday October 21, from 3PM to 6PM in the funeral home. Interment will be with her husband in St. Johns Cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Mt.
